Join Sports & Rec for a fun OUTDOOR movie night! We are bringing in Audio Cine Films who will be showing a new movie projected onto a big screen in the Outdoor rink space here at the Makwa Centre on Friday, October 2nd. Bring lawn chairs, inflatables to lounge on, cozy blankets and pillows! There will be a movie theatre style canteen available throughout the movie so you can purchase all your yummy movie snacks at a very low cost! (all items will be a loonie each, chocolate bars, candy, popcorn bags, drinks, only $1.00 each)

Ever wondered what stars our ancestors used to guide them in the night? Come and join Sports & Rec as we star gaze and learn about the stars in the sky!

A guided night-sky adventure by the Royal Astronomy Society of Canada. Join us in the ballfield at the Makwa to learn about the sky above us. The RASC will have telescopes available for us to look through and guide us through the history and legends of the stars above. If you have your own telescope, please feel free to bring it-the RASC guides will help you set it up and assist with your viewing. No telescope? No Problem! Just bring your curiosity. If you have binoculars, feel free to bring them along too - They're great for stargazing!
