Special Weather Statement - Significant rainfall expected for Golden Lake
Residents are being advised to prepare for another round of rainfall today, with periods of heavy rain expected throughout the morning before tapering off later this afternoon. With the ground already saturated, the ability to absorb additional rainfall is significantly reduced, increasing the risk of localized flooding.
Environment officials indicate that total rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 mm are anticipated, with the potential for higher accumulations in areas affected by thunderstorms.
As a result, water pooling on roads, in ditches, and in low-lying areas is likely. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to exercise caution, particularly in areas prone to poor drainage.
Community members seeking up-to-date information on flood conditions are encouraged to consult their local Conservation Authority or contact the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources. Additional resources and updates are available online at the Government of Ontario flood information page.
Residents are reminded to stay alert to changing weather conditions and to take appropriate precautions to ensure their safety.
