Precautionary Boil Water Advisory Lifted

The Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation is pleased to advise community members that the Precautionary Boil Water Advisory has been lifted, effective immediately Aug 27, 2026.

Health Canada advised bacteriological water samples collected from the water treatment plant and distribution lines, as well as Schedule 23/24, General Chemistry and Gross Alpha/Beta water samples collected from the Water Treatment Plant have been received and are within the Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality and Ontario Drinking Water Standards, deeming the water potable.

This advisory was put in place as the new Water Treatment Plant was brought online and the necessary steps were completed to transition to the new system.

We sincerely thank all community members for their patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this process. We recognize the inconvenience the advisory may have caused and appreciate everyone's continued support as we worked to bring the new water treatment plant online safely and successfully.

The new Water Treatment Plant represents an important investment in the community's infrastructure and will help support the delivery of safe and reliable drinking water for generations to come.
