AOPFN Consultation Dept AKLUS Studies - Seeking AOPFN Members to participate
ALGONQUIN KNOWLEDGE AND LAND USE STUDY (AKLUS)
The AOPFN Consultation Department is looking for Algonquins of Pikwakànagàn First Nation members to participate in our Studies and please note that there will be an Honorarium of $75 per hour for participating.
- This call to AOPFN Land Users and Knowledge Holders is to seek information for the Eastern Bridge Project around Kettle Island (Ottawa area) and for the ALTO High Speed Rail Project between Ottawa and Montreal.
- AKLUS information will help us determine the potential impacts of projects on our rights and impacts on our unceded Traditional Territory and an AKLUS is used to map AOPFN knowledge, land use, and places that have been used by AOPFN members both historically and today.
Interviews are starting NOW (Sept 3) and will be conducted; in person in community, virtual, coordinate in Ottawa area and On The Land Mapping/Interviews. If you are interested in participating and/or would like more information, please contact any of the following Consultation staff:
