3.7 magnitude earthquake felt in Pikwakanagan

Residents across the region may have felt a brief tremor earlier today, as a minor earthquake occurred at approximately 12:36 p.m.

According to preliminary data, the earthquake registered a magnitude of 3.7 and occurred at a depth of 18 kilometres. The epicentre was located near Shawville.

At this magnitude, earthquakes are generally considered minor and are not typically associated with significant damage. However, they can be felt by people in surrounding areas, particularly indoors.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries at this time.
