Sports & Recreation

The Sports & Recreation Department is responsible for developing and implementing inclusive programming that promotes overall well-being. Providing opportunities for our members to participate in sport and recreation at community level and beyond. Providing a supportive space to all members to grow, develop skills, nurture self-care and enhance personal well-being. We are here to ensure sport and recreation experiences for our children, our youth, adults and Elders.

The Sports & Recreation department also provides many sports and recreation activities throughout the year. Some of the main sport focused activities include basketball, volleyball, skating clinics, softball league, t-ball, soccer, floor hockey, cornhole, bucket golf and many other activities that are youth inspired. Our facility operates a full fitness centre on the upper level that members over the age of 16 or 12-15 with an adult can use to support their fitness goals. The Fitness Centre requires a completed waiver and information form for all users to be submitted to the Fitness Coordinator. The Fitness Centre is open to non-members at a rate of $2.00 for daily drop-in fee.

The Sports & Recreation department oversees community opportunities to attend various events throughout the territory, events such as Indigenous Night with the Ottawa Senators where our members have key roles in sharing our culture on that special night, we are also engaged with the Ottawa Blackbears (Lacrosse team), we take part in Rugby Canada events held in the National Capital of Ottawa. Through the Sports & Recreation department our community members are fortunate to attend most of these events at least once each year. The Sports & Recreation department is honoured to be able to provide our members with funding assistance for competitive sport, tournaments, regional, provincial, national sporting events, we have a Sport Funding Policy in place that will support individual member requests or member team requests.
