The Human Resources (HR) Department plays a vital role by focusing on managing the employee recruitment, lifecycle, and benefits to help with employee retention and overall performance. The Human Resources Department also oversees our Employment Development.

Employment Development:

In the Community - works closely with Kagita Mikam and is dedicated to assisting First Nation members in enhancing their career prospects through training and educational opportunities.

Key aspects of HR include culturally safe recruitment, where HR professionals strategize to attract and select the best candidates for open positions. We strive to hire First Nations employees whenever possible.  HR handles benefits administration involves designing and managing employee benefits packages, which can include health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies. 

Strategic planning in HR involves aligning human capital with organizational goals, assessing workforce needs, and planning for future talent requirements. Overall, HR plays a pivotal role in fostering a productive and inclusive workplace culture.

This role focuses on understanding the unique needs of the community and providing tailored support that empowers individuals to achieve their professional goals. By facilitating access to resources and opportunities, the Employment Development Coordinator plays a crucial role in promoting sustainable employment and educational advancement for First Nation members.
