Nuclear

The Nuclear Team has a goal to consult and engage with nuclear industry activities occurring within AOPFN’s territory. These activities have been occurring in our territory since the 1940s without AOPFN’s involvement.  

Project types include, but are not limited: 

• Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC)-long term relationship arrangement was signed in 2022 and includes AOPFN participation in activities on various nuclear facilities.  

• Nordion 

• BWXT Medical 

• SRB Technologies  

• Regulatory Oversite Report- process facilities  

AOPFN signed a long-term relationship agreement May 31, 2023, the purpose of the LTRA will Facilites meaningful discussions between the AOPFN and CNL and AECL regarding activities and opportunities within various departments such as Employment, Procurement, Engagement and Nation to Nation relationship building.
