Consultation & Engagement

As the Consultation Department of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn First Nation (AOPFN), we are proud to support a Nation that is strong, vibrant, and committed to a prosperous and sustainable future. Our work is founded on our responsibility to protect the well-being of our people while safeguarding the environment and upholding the rights of AOPFN. Located along the shores of Golden Lake and the Bonnechere River in Renfrew County, we embrace our role as caretakers of all living things and stewards of the lands and waters within our Territory.
The AOPFN Consultation and Engagement Department 2025 Strategic Plan (Strategic Plan) reflects our commitment to strengthening how we carry out these responsibilities. It provides our team with a clear path forward, setting out our vision and goals while creating space for a more intentional, proactive, and coordinated approach to consultation and engagement. Through this work, we aim to honour the voices of our people, uphold our Nation’s governance, and protect what matters most for future generations.
