Vision, Mission & Values

Our Vision

The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation envision a strong, self-governing, and culturally vibrant community rooted in Algonquin values, traditions, and language. We strive for a future where our people are healthy, educated, and prosperous — living in harmony with the land and waters that have sustained us since time immemorial. Our vision is to preserve our Algonquin identity while creating opportunities for growth, unity, and well-being for current and future generations.

Our Mission

Our mission is to advance the social, economic, cultural, and spiritual well-being of our members through accountable leadership, community engagement, and sustainable development. We are dedicated to protecting our inherent rights, strengthening our governance, and ensuring that all decisions are made with respect for our ancestors, the land, and the teachings that guide us. By investing in education, housing, health, and economic opportunities, we aim to build a community where every member can thrive — in balance with our traditional values and modern aspirations.

Strength – We draw resilience from our history, culture, and community spirit to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.
