Community Support Personnel
The Community Support Personnel (CSP) program plays a vital role in supporting the well-being, safety, and day-to-day needs of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation. Our CSP team is made up of trained, community-focused staff who work directly with members to provide practical assistance, emotional support, and timely responses to a wide range of situations 7 days a week. Their work helps ensure that individuals and families feel supported, connected, and cared for within the community.
CSP staff assist community members by providing transportation to essential appointments, wellness checks for Elders and vulnerable individuals, and support during difficult personal circumstances. They work closely with Health Services, Mental Health and Addictions, Social Services, Education, and Cultural Programs to ensure that members are safely linked to the programs and resources they need. Their role is rooted in respect, compassion, and cultural awareness, recognizing the unique needs and strengths of our community.
In addition to daily support duties, the CSP team plays an important role in community safety. They assist with traffic control during community events, support emergencies as directed by leadership or emergency management teams, and act as approachable points of contact for members who need immediate help or guidance. Their visible presence provides reassurance and promotes a sense of safety and connection throughout Pikwakanagan.
The CSP program is also deeply committed to building trust and strong relationships within the community. Team members are often among the first to check in during crises, offer a listening ear, or help navigate services. Their dedication reflects our Nation’s broader commitment to caring for one another and ensuring that no member feels overlooked or unsupported.
Through consistent, reliable, and community-driven service, the Community Support Personnel team strengthens our collective well-being and contributes to a healthier, safer, and more connected Pikwakanagan.
