Fraud and Scam Awareness Presentation Coming to Pembroke Public Library
Community members are invited to attend an informative presentation focused on recognizing and preventing fraud and scams. The session is being hosted by the Ontario Provincial Police Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment in partnership with the Pembroke Public Library.
The presentation will provide valuable information on some of the most common scams currently affecting individuals and communities. Topics will include cybercrime awareness, mass marketing fraud, romance scams, emergency scams, and other prevalent schemes used by fraudsters. Attendees will also learn practical tips and strategies to help identify suspicious activity and protect themselves from becoming victims of fraud.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions during a dedicated question-and-answer period following the presentation.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Pembroke Public Library.
This event is free and open to the public, however those interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance by contacting the library at 613-732-8844 or by emailing programs@pembrokelibrary.ca.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to better recognize scams and protect themselves and their families from fraud.
