Chief and Council Update – October 31st,2025

The Community Support Personnel (CSP) program has been extended into 2026. During their most recent council meeting, Chief Greg Sarazin and council voted to extend the program until March 31st 2026.

The program had originally been set to expire at the end of October. However, following the community update meeting earlier this month on the current State of Emergency and opioid crisis, it was made clear by the members in attendance that the CSP program has had a very positive effect on the safety and wellbeing of Pikwakanagan and should therefore continue.

The CSP’s are local members of our community, trained by ISN Maskwa and have since taken the oath to service and help protect AOPFN. The trained individuals support the local Ambulance and Police services and actively take part in patrols, engagement and wellness checks.

The program operates 7-days a week, assisting with social events and recreation. You can contact the CSP’s by calling 613-401-7446 or email CSP@pikwakanagan.ca. Any contact information that you provide will remain strictly confidential and never shared with any third parties without your consent.

“This program has grown to become an essential part of our Nation’s overall well-being. The CSP team not only responds to immediate situations but also works proactively building relationships, offering resources, and promoting community safety and healing.” – Chief Greg Sarazin
