Supportive Housing (Tennisco Manor):
The Tennisco Manor provides the Community with long term care facilities as funded under the supportive Housing Program with the Ministry of Health. The Manor’s purpose is to enhance the life of the aged, disabled, ill and homeless Members of the community. The Manor is a 24-hour facility. Presently there are “No vacancies” at Tennisco Manor. If you are interested in a tour or accommodations for yourself or a loved one, please make an appointment with the Home care Coordinator.

Residents enjoy fully prepared meals, care and social activities in the Manor. Family visits, meals, games and celebrations ensure residents remain social and active. The Manor is centrally located in the community to allow easy access and is close to Health Services, the Fire Department and the restaurant.

HOMECARE PROGRAM GOAL:
The Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn aged, disabled, and ill Members who require long term care will have immediate and on-going non-restrictive availability to the highest quality competent and compassionate care that meets each person’s unique physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs.



Homemaking:
The Homemaking Program employees four Personal Support Workers on a contractual basis. Homemaking Services are available to aged, disabled, and ill Members in their homes include:
- meal planning and preparation of nourishing meals and preparation of special diets when required
- light, heavy and seasonal cleaning
- light laundry, ironing and essential mending of clothing
- personal care including assistance in walking, climbing, or descending stairs, getting into or out of bed, eating, dressing, bathing and other matters of personal hygiene
- simple bedside care when required

Presently we have twenty-three clients in our Community and five in the Manor on our Homecare program.
We also offer respite and palliative care for families in need.
