Prevention Services



There are numerous programs currently operating under this department. These include Ontario Works Financial Assistance, Mindiwin Manido-Day Care, Tennisco Manor and Home Care, Pikwakanagan Child and Family Services, Prevention Programs - Children's Mental Health, Foster Home, Kids and Teen Facts. Other Projects and Programs include: Social Assistance Transfer Fund for Training-OW Clients, National Child Benefit Reinvestment-Food Bank and Employee Supports, Family Violence Prevention Initiative, First Nation Child Care Initiative, Child Care Center Needs and First Nations Energy Fund.

Separate buildings exist for the following programs: Mindiwin Manido: Daycare, Tennisco Manor, Aboriginal Healing and Wellness Program and Prevention Services.

STAFF:
Teresa M. Kohoko, Social Services Program Manager
Responsible for managing the daily operations of all the components available within Social Services.

 

 

Judith Commanda, Social Services Assistant/Family Support Worker

Delivers Ontario Works and provides support and referrals to appropriate social and health programs.

Elaine Whiteduck, A/Administrative Assistant
