The 19th Annual Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn Pow Wow will be a celebration of Anishinabe Traditional Foods, Crafts, Dancing and Drumming. In this year 2006, we celebrate Honouring the Sky and Water That Brings Peace and Unity (algonquin version)

To celebrate Honouring the Sky and Water That Brings Peace and Unity, 11 year old Pikwàkanagàn artist, Dylan Willet created the logo for the theme this year, shown at the top and left of the page. Following is text to accompany the artwork:

We honor,

Kokomis-tibik-kizis - Grandmother Moon creatively, caringly, provides heartfelt love and protection—understanding and safe keeping. There is vision, intuition, wisdom, the life cycle that is sensitive and sympathetic. True compassion is a gift from the Creator.

Mishomis-kizis - Gandfather Sun gives us generosity, responsibility, wisdom, reliability, unity that benefits all beings everywhere. The sun-kizis provides warmth, inner realization—unique self—Celebration.

Anagoshika - Star Nation gives us beauty, vision, generosity, patience, openess, harmony, contentment and gratitude—It is an honor to give.

Nibi - Water- gives us Seer sensitivity, perception, patience, intuitiveness, warmth, healing, love, happiness, gratitude and reflection. The very source of our being – water from the Mother.
