Episodic Care:
This service is available to all aboriginal members within the area by appointment or walk-in. Episodic care means that Minopimàdiz-I Gamik (Health Services) health care staff provides acute health services.

Share Care:
This service allows your family physician, nurses and NP’s the opportunity to provide you with holistic care. This means sharing of information between all your care providers.

Physician Services:
The services of a Doctor are available once a week. Scheduled appointments are appreciated but walk-in services are available five days a week with either an NP or physician.

Nurse Practitioner Services:
The services of Nurse Practitioner’s are available five days a week. A Nurse Practitioner can treat common illnesses such as colds, ear aches, and common infections such as bladder infections. They can diagnose and treat common injuries such as sprains and cuts. A report of your visit will be forwarded to your family doctor to ensure a continuity of care. Other Nursing services available at Minopimàdiz-i Gamik by our RPN’s and RN’s, provided you have a physician’s prescription and an NP or physician are on site, you can receive a Vitamin B12 injection and other injectable medications.

Home Visits:
Should you be ill and confined to your home, a home visit can be arranged with the Doctor, Nurse Practitioner, RPN or RN.

Referrals to Specialists:
The Doctor or Nurse Practitioner may refer you to a specialist for further specialized care as required.

Diabetes Education & Care:
The Nurse Practitioner will assist the CHN with Diabetic workshops for community members. Diabetes screening is quite common with many patients to ensure quick and accurate treatment is administered.

Prenatal/Postnatal Assessment & Care:
Regularly scheduled appointments are made for expectant moms and new moms to ensure overall health for mom and newborn.

Lab Tests:
Lab services are available Monday to Friday, 8:30-10:00 a.m. Lab specimens are picked up at Minopimàdiz-i Gamik and returned with their results. Lab specimens include blood work, urine samples, swabs and ECGS.

Hearing Tests:
Hearing tests are done when necessary, and the Nurse Practitioner also provides the Hearing tests at the community Day Care to help assess the growth and developmental stages of toddlers who may be showing signs of developmental delays.

Pre-School Assessments:
The Nurse Practitioner visits the community Day Care once a week to ensure continuity of care for children of the community.
