The Finance Department of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn is responsible for financial management and accounting, concentrating on the criteria required to comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The department is responsible for incorporating sound financial and accounting policies and procedures, which include internal controls, in order to eliminate questionable operating practices and have reliable financial reports. With this positive control environment, including an involved, Chief, Council, Directors, Managers and Subordinates, the organizational structure is well designed and operates effectively.

STAFF:

Catherine Bernard, Manager Financial Services
Acts in the capacity of principal coordinator and advisor on the financial affairs of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn. Plans, organized, coordinates, maintains and reports on all financial matters of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn. Responsible to maintain and make recommendations as to the initiation, improvement, development, implementation, monitoring and modifications of the financial policies, guidelines and procedures in accordance with all Treasury Board directives and other funding sources, circulars, acts, regulations and directives.

Marsha Hall, Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Manager, Financial Services, as well as the rest of the Department. Responsible for Accounts payable/receivable and preparing monthly invoicing.

Nona Golding, Acquisitions Clerk
The Acquisitions Clerk is accountable for carrying out the responsibility of purchasing, receiving, shipping and inventory necessitated by the administration of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn.

Shelley Knox , Payroll/Finance Clerk
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for the bi-weekly payroll for the First Nation employees. The clerk also provides daily administrative support to the Finance Department.
