Remembrance Day Ceremony

& Entertainment

Each year community members, Dancers, Drums and guests join in the annual festivities of the Algonquins of Pikwàkanagàn. Ceremonies include the annual Pow Wow, Remembrance Day Ceremonies, Graduation, the Sno-Fest, and many other special events and sports. Activities, entertainment and food abound in the community.

The Pow Wow is the most spectacular event of the year. Guests, drummers and dancers travel from all over to attend the event on the third weekend each August. Travelers camp overnight on the grounds or locate accommodations in near by towns.

The community has a full service restaurant and gas bar, museum, convenience store, craft shop, trailer/campsite and smoke shops. Guests can dine, relax, shop, visit the museum, and enjoy their stay in an unspoiled region of beauty.

Our annual Remembrance Day ceremony is a solemn opportunity for the community to honour those that have sacrificied their lives in times of war and service to their country. The service is shared with members from 2 Service Battalion located at Canadian Forces Base Petawawa.

Whatever your interests, come and enjoy the beautiful waterfront scenery of Pikwàkanagàn. Come for the Pow Wow and return for the beauty of the land and the people.
